 Two years ago, Osterkamp wrote a story for his newborn son that through encouragement of friends soon became the popular novel Being a Sharefish in a Selfish World. Proceeds from book sales have helped fund several ventures to help homelessness, promote The Healing Place - the substance abuse recovery center in Raleigh, and most recently, the partnership with El Carrizo Honduras. “I am a very fortunate man”, says Osterkamp. “My mother always taught me that it is better to be a Sharefish than a Selfish. Each of our incredible board members of Sharefish lives their lives that way every day. To paraphrase the quote, a small group of committed people can change the world.
